U16 Boys Nordic Cup Finalist |
Going into the tournament the feeling was anything less than making the finals would be a disappointment. Also, there was little margin for error, the winners of group play went directly to the final game. Fortunately, the team came ready to go and won the two games on the first day by scores of 2-0 and 4-0. Still needing the last win to secure the trip to the final, the team posted a 3-1 win on Sunday in the last group game. The final was against a local team, Far Post. Unfortunately, an early goal by Far Post would be the only goal of the game, and despite being able to outplay Far Post in the second half, the team settled for second place. Overall, an excellent showing against some very good competition. |

U16 Boys League Champions |
At the start of the season there was a lot of confidence the U16 Boys team would have a strong showing in league play. As it turned out, that confidence was well founded. The team went 8-0-0 in league play capturing first place overall. In eight games, the team gave up just 2 goals (1 on a penalty shot), recorded 6 shut outs, and the offense contributed 22 goals, nearly 3 per game. This was achieved even with having to play the first 4 games on the road. Sandwiched in the league play schedule was a good showing at the Oakwood Premier Invitational Tournament, where the team made it to the semi-finals. Next up is the Nordic Tournament in Vermont and Seaside Classic Tournament in Rhode Island. |
