Star Hill - NO CLEATS

Message from Mike at Star Hill:

Hi Coaches, Managers, Players, and Parents,

Middle of last winter we started seeing some what we thought was some premature damage to the turf.  In an effort to protect a big asset, and prolong the life of the turf we decided to start phasing out the use of cleats at Star Hill.  We announced this in November to all the youth teams, and have been patient with the implementation of the rule.

As of Friday, February 2nd, no one will be allowed to play on Star Hill’s turf with cleats

The referees will be in charge of enforcing the rule.  Players do not have to go out and spend a lot of money on new turf shoes.  Soccer flats, turf shoes, or plain old sneakers are all fine.

Please let your families know and I appreciate your help in enforcing this rule.  Clubs, please pass this along to your coaches.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks,

Star Hill
